Transformer
"Transformer" as a short form for transformer refers to the electrotechnical components that convert normal mains voltage (230 volts in Europe, 110 V in USA) into the voltage necessary to operate electrical equipment. Transformers, which are connected upstream of electrotechnical devices, also have a safety function; they reduce the normal mains voltage to a low voltage that is not dangerous for people. This allows other protection classes to be implemented, which in turn enables more diverse and user-friendly equipment designs. Electronic low-voltage transformers are used in Provita luminaires.
